During the Moroz QRP contest today I was only able to be active for about one hour but I still managed to work 7 stations. My QTH was a wooden shelter just outside my home town Skien. The thermometer showed -3°C. I used a Yaesu FT-817ND, an Elecraft T1 ATU and a W3EDP wire antenna. The highlight of the day was to finally talk to Adam M6RDP on 40m!
Stations worked:
20m: RK3FW, SV2AHT, LA1ENA, LA6GOA, UA3YHG and LZ2RS
40m: M6RDP

Hi Mads!
ReplyDeleteMy computer tells me 795 miles from my QTH to Skien! That is the furthest 2-way QRP I have had so far! When I called you on 7180 I was amazed how strong your 5W reply was. Bit of QSB later on when it was more of a struggle, but we did it at low power and I was very happy to speak to you for the first time.
Do you know if the Russian QRP club have any other contests during the year?
Well done, BTW, on your 7 contacts. Brilliant fun! Best 73 and bye for now, Adam
Hello Adam!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the QSO! You were truly a steady 58 so your 10w is doing a great job. My qsl card will go in the mail tomorrow.
I'm sorry I can't help you with the dates of more Russian qrp contests. You could try to send an e-mail to the e-mail address in the Moroz rules.
